Born on June 9, 1900, Annie Logan (II) lived in Asheville, NC all her life. She lived with her parents until marrying Frank Owens on July 19, 1923. In addition to working as a laundress and cook in private homes, she partnered with her husband to serve their community for many years. They lived together on 954 West Chapel Road in Asheville for a few years before moving to 956 West Chapel Road prior to 1935, where they lived for the majority of their lives. 

Together, Frank and Annie raised a family of 9 children: 5 sons and 4 daughters, at least one of which was a legally adopted granddaughter or niece; census records and newspaper reports differ on which. Like her husband Frank who was the pastor of the Shiloh A.M.E. Zion church for many years, Annie served her community in love. One example of her consistent service was her dedication to being the pianist to a number of A.M.E. Zion churches in Buncombe and McDowell Counties for over 50 years. She organized a number of choirs for these churches as well. Together, Frank and Annie ministered to their community for 74 years until Annie’s death at age 96. After living through the death of her parents, many of her siblings, and even some of her children, Annie Logan Owens died on December 5, 1996.
